Instructions for installing PPP/Winsock:

1.   Make a subdirectory in your hard-drive and name it trumpet.
2.   Login to cinenet with the username dload.
3.   Download the software for the pc using option 6(PPP for PC).
4.   this will give you the winpkt.com, Trumpet Winsock and an ftp program.
     as well as pkunzip.exe and other files.
5.   This is all you need to setup the connection.
6.   To get programs such as eudora you can use the ftp program to get 
     them from us.  The address to ftp to is ftp.cinenet.net and the
     username is anonymous with your email address as the password.
     then you can change directory to pub/slip_ppp/pc or mac

7   While in the trumpet subdirectory, unzip all files using 
     "pkunzip filename".
     
8.  The next step is to create a Trumpet group and items for the 
    following programs
     (these programs are extracted out of step 7 above).
     1.   tcpman.exe -- call this icon Trumpet Winsock
     2.   ws_ftp.exe -- call this icon FTP
     
     
     All these programs are in the trumpet subdirectory.

9.  The winpkt programs reside on your trumpet directory.  Make sure 
     the path points to them.  Now restart your PC.

10.  Once you have created a group and items for the programs listed in 
     step 9, the
     icons should appear.  Then click on the Trumpet Winsock icon, and enter the
     setup menu.  Enter the following in the right places, (they should be all set
     correctly):
     1.   IP address -        0.0.0.0
     2.   Domain Suffix--      hollywood.cinenet.net
     3.   Nameserver-    198.147.76.65
     4.   Timeserver --  198.147.76.65
     4b.  Default Gateway --          198.147.76.70
     5.   Net mask    255.255.255.0
     5b.  Check Internal slip/ppp
     5c.  Check "use PPP"
     6.   Compression    turned off (not checked)
     7.   SLIP port -         enter the com port number of your modem (
	  ie com1,com2 etc..)
     8.   Baud rate      enter the baud rate that your modem can go upto.\
     9.   Vector - 60
    10.   MTU: 552
	  MSS: 512
    	  RWIN: 1536


11.  Save these setting, and exit.  Then click on the Trumpet icon again, 
     and go into
     the manual login menu.  Here, type ATDT-1-310-301-4501.  When the modem 
     answers
     with a login/userid, enter your ID and password.  then hit the ESC 
     key.  You will see some garbage and then you will
     see a line that says:  My IP address is xx.xx.xx.xx (x refers to numbers).
     Now you are ready to  run your applications.

12.  You can also download a file called login.cmd in the same directory
     which is a script for dialing into cinenet.
13.  Try to run ftp to connect to a well know ftp server, such as
     hollywood.cinenet.net.  If it works, your PPP link is set up correctly.
     and you can get eudora and other useful files int the dir 
     pub/slip_ppp/pc.
14.  Now you can run Eudora.  Enter the configuration option, and enter the
     following:  
     POP server:         mail.cinenet.net
     POP account:   your-userid@cinenet.net
     POP return addr     your-userid@cinenet.net
     Ph server      leave blank
     SMTP server    mail.cinenet.net
     
     Use Eudora for email, -- it will check mail at the time intervals that you
     specify.  It will prompt you for a password, which is the password for the
     userid that you have on the system.
     
     Newserver should be set to 
     news.cinenet.net

     If you are idle for more than 15 mins you will be automatically
     logged out from us.
